Get a Taste of What Kandy Can do for You and Your Customers

Is the weather in Paradise Valley, Arizona always this perfect? Even though we peaked at a perfect 72 degrees and sunny, as we kicked off GENBAND’s annual global sales conference at the Camelback Inn, things got hot inside the ballroom where over 350 people gathered from around the world to kick off 2015.
We had an incredible 2014, with regional growth, solutions growth, the launch of our Kandy Platform-as-a-Service, the introduction of our Wireless Access Gateway – and in general, growth in our mobile products across the board.
Our CEO David Walsh kicked off the keynotes, followed by presentations from a number of leaders in the company, including several success stories around the biggest wins last year. Paul Pluschkell, co-founder and visionary leader of our communications platform Kandy (launched last September), rocked the house. He showed not only examples of extremely creative solutions of the Kandy platform, but live demos which we’ll be sharing publicly soon.
A huge theme was endpoints – the new definition of endpoints and how many endpoints any one subscriber or user could own (as more and more of us carry smartphones, tablets, phablets, laptops, and smart watches, which were on a lot of wrists this week). Real-time communications experiences, often embedded in applications and delivered in the moment, make mobile communications more intuitive, more useful, and more fun and entertaining than ever.
Now, when you connect with WiFi, the entire world opens up to you, in high definition when the broadband is big enough. We simply cannot get enough – even as we sat in the massive ballroom – I saw the participants taking photos, videos, posting them to twitter, and generally “sharing out.” On the breaks, our super busy sales people were able to get a ton of work done, without having to leave their seats.
A highlight of the day yesterday was the brand new Kandy RV (the KandyMobile) – which is an awesome demo center on wheels. It’s headed to Atlanta on Thursday and from there to other cities in the US. Kandy is bringing the Kandy experience to C-level executives who are building their new world-changing solutions, whether as Communications Service Providers, Systems Integrators, large Enterprises, or Independent Software Vendors.
Kandy is getting a lot of attention and traction, because we are bringing decades of carrier grade networking technologies and making it easier than ever to leverage reliable, high definition multimedia communications exposed through the APIs and SDK’s Kandy provides.
As David Walsh said, in the future any application that doesn’t include Real-Time Communications is going to be less than competitive. We saw a number of success stories where large Application Service Providers (e-commerce, web services companies) are now adding messaging, video chat, co-browsing and collaboration experiences that can be added to any website – quickly, with zero to minimal cost of entry”.
GENBAND is in the software business, from NFV and SDN all the way to SaaS and PaaS. I like to call it CaaS (communications as a service) and MCaaS (mobile communications as a service) – delivered on our customer’s clouds, Amazon’s cloud (AWS), or the GENBAND cloud.
Simply Mobile? Yes! We’ve taken layers of complexity out, adding an orchestration layer to everything GENBAND is the BEST at – market share leaders in SBC, Sip, Interconnection and more – and now a market creator with Kandy. And it’s only January!
